Low participant-to-instructor ratio and a 24/7 field support team

We ensure each and every participant’s safety by maintaining small groups, and a low participant-to-instructor ratio of 5:1. Instructors always make sure everyone is accounted for, and in the case of an emergency are trained to respond immediately. We have an on-site as well as an on-call 24/7 support team ready to assist in any emergency.

At Nature and Oceans Adventures, our foremost commitment is to ensure a secure and wholesome experience for all program participants, prioritizing safety above all else. Rigorous assessments and careful selection of program destinations and activities are conducted based on various safety factors. We diligently follow Travel Advice and Advisories from the Government of the U.S. Department of State, and local authorities.

Before each program, a comprehensive Risk and Hazard Assessment is undertaken to identify and evaluate potential risks, with a tailored Risk Management plan implemented to minimize these risks professionally.

In the event of an incident, a Crisis Management plan outlines a clear course of action, and our staff and guides maintain a list of nearby medical facilities for immediate attention. Led by our Nature and Oceans Adventures Directors, experts in outdoor education, history, languages, and camp programming, our teams are dedicated to ensuring safe and educational travel experiences year-round.

This plan intends to establish with all participants a clear and simple procedure to follow if any serious or extraordinary circumstances arise that require a student’s parents or guardians to be contacted during or immediately following an outdoor education trip.
